The Power Of Eating Frequent Meals Part: 1

Why is eating frequent meals so important? While one of the goals of your eating endeavors is to get as much “good food” as you can past your fat cells and into your lean muscle tissue, you must be wary: Your lean muscle tissue can handle only a certain amount of food at a time.

In other words, after you eat that amount, the cells in your muscles shut their doors and don’t allow any more food in, no matter how nutritious it is, until it has burned up the food already there. So where does the excess food go? You guessed it. Straight to your fat cells.

Let’s look at an example of what we’re talking about. Let’s say it’s lunchtime, and you have the type of body that needs 300-400 calories to keep functioning until your next meal. But then you sit down at lunch and ingest enough food to add up to 1,000 calories. That excess 600-700 calories (no matter where it is coming from chicken, fruit, or cookies) is most likely to be stored as fat.

How To Walk More At Work

Before you get too far ahead of us and start making up excuses, we know you are pressed for time, and we know that walking, especially the long route, may not be the most convenient option.  Then again, neither is the extra weight we are carrying around with us.  Sitting all day is not just bad for you, it’s deadly.  Walking a little bit further everyday can help you keep your metabolism burning more all day long and it can obviously burn off more of those calories from the actual physical activity.  It will also help you to be a bit happier and a little more sane.  Everyone needs a break and yo mine as well get some fresh air and sunshine while you are at it.  Here are a few ways to get more exercise by walking the scenic route.

Take the stairs.  If you have to run to your car to grab something you forgot or down to the store room in the basement take the stairs.  Stairs are a great way to get your blood pumping and to burn some extra calories.  If you don’t ever have to leave your floor try taking a lap up and down the hallway or just taking the long way to your destination.  The important thing is that you are  getting up and moving.

5 Ways To Cut Calories This Summer

Even though the weather is warmer and people are more active overall, summer can pack on the extra pounds.  Vacations and trips can throw your diet completely out of wack and don’t forget the barbecues that triple your calorie and sodium intake in one meal.  So what can you do to prevent summer from taking its toll on your body?  Follow these five easy tips.

1. Keep the water coming.  Not only does the heat dehydrate you faster, but it also gives you the munchies.  Staying hydrated can help control your appetite and keep your metabolism burning all day long.

2. Hit the gym bright and early.  Early workouts will keep your from overheating and getting exhausted.  They will also give you the extra boost of energy you need to get your day going. m

3. Have a plan.  This rule will save you time, money, and calories.  If you are going to be out and about all day, pack a healthy lunch.  This applies to road trips and vacations as well.  You won’t waste the time and money it takes to find and eat at a restaurant and you will save all the calories and fat you would have been getting from a burger and fries.
