Overcoming your personal “stop signs”

Many of us use our “limitations” as a stop sign for reaching our goals. While knowing our limits can safeguard us against injury and embarrassment, too often we use them as avoidance methods in our lives.

What is holding you back from reaching your goals? How can you push beyond your comfort zone in a healthy way?

Many dieters experience such limitations in on their weight loss journeys. Our bodies and minds are capable of overcoming much more than we could ever imagine if we just try. Ironically, with the thousands of diets available, the diet and weight loss industry has produced widespread dismal failure for decades – even with ever-greater attention, awareness, and education about healthy living and reducing disease risk.  Since the beginning of Genesis Personal Fitness, and particularly in the past few years after the start of our renown Weight Loss Boot Camps, I’ve noticed just how important, complex, frustrating, and confusing the issue of weight loss is, even to devoted diet and fitness enthusiasts trying to do the right thing.

The new Genesis Weight Loss Jump Start Program is my aggressive response to making things right when it comes to starting and continuing on the right path to effective weight loss.  Rich Farina and I have prepared perhaps the most detailed and comprehensive 10-week program available anywhere in the area, bringing an intense focus and detailed guidance to implementing the Genesis Exercise and Nutrition principles specifically for weight loss.

QuestionForRitaWhen I start working with a new client who wants to lose weight, I often get this question asked of me in sort of a subtle way.  “Subtle” because the client usually doesn’t want to offend me thinking that I “live to exercise” or because I make my living as a successful business owner of a personal training center, I believe every person on the planet should be a fitness fanatic.  So, I thought I’d take this opportunity to clarify what you should expect and the perhaps the personal approach you should consider taking when it comes to exercise and losing the excess fat you’re tired of wearing.

The “short” answer: probably a lot longer than you want.

The long answer: As a professional health and diet coach, I tend to cover a lot of weight loss nutrition and diet issues, but fitness is a crucial factor in not only weight loss but in overall health as well.  So I’m eager to discuss exercise issues in greater detail. Truth is I spend a fair amount of time coaching, speaking and writing about how to integrate exercise with diet for faster, more effective fat loss and subesquent easier weight management once you reach your goal.
